Boat taking in water saved before sinking

A boat cargo boat by the name of “SM Supply” taking in water has been saved along with the cargo and people on board using a water pump before it could sink.

MNDF said that it was around 11:45 a.m. it was reported that the boat was taking in water. And said that the boat was ten miles south-west of Lhaviyani Atoll Olhuvehifushi.

The MNDF said that according to the captain of the boat, they started taking in water due to rough seas. There were seven people on board at the time and all are in good condition.

After the water was dried, it is now on the way to Lhaviyani Felivaru with the help of another boat brought by the owner of SM Supply.

A launch from the Coastguard Squadron of the MNDF Northern Area is keeping close to the vessel.
