Four suspects in death of 25-year-old Nadaal Rasheed – who fell to his death from 6th floor of Ma. Beyrumathyge on December 13, 2014 – have appealed their arrest.
Police have arrested five individuals in the case – suspected by police of premeditated murder.
Defense lawyer Ahmed Nazim Abdul Sattar spoke to “Sun” on Wednesday and said that he sent a letter to Criminal Court to appeal the court’s decision to extend their detention to 15 more days on Tuesday.
The decision was appealed saying that while police have alleged one of the suspects pushed Nadaal off the building, it was written in court order as suspected criminal offense that Nadaal had “fallen” off the building.
The lawyer said the decision to keep them under arrest did not fit any criterion to keep suspects under arrest – stated in constitution.
