Foreign Secretaries discuss strengthening Maldives-UAE ties

Foreign Ministers from the UAE and the Maldives have held a discussion on strengthening the ties between the two countries.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, who arrived in the Maldives on Thursday, called on the Maldivian Foreign Minister, Dunya Maumoon today. The UAE Foreign Minister is in the Maldives on the invitation of the Maldivian Foreign Minister.

The call was held at the Foreign Ministry today, the two foreign secretaries discussed ways of further strengthening the close bilateral relations between the two countries.

At the meeting Foreign Minister Dunya thanked the UAE Foreign Minister for the continued support and assistance from UAE for the development of the Maldives.

After his visit to the Foreign Minister Dunya, the UAE Foreign Minister ended his visit to the Maldives.

Since the political alliance was established with the UAE in 1978, the country has been assisting the Maldives in different development projects.
