Thoriq: Challenge to achieve developmental goals is climate change

Environment Minister, Thoriq Ibrahim has said that the challenge for the Maldives in achieving sustainable developmental goals in climate change.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the workshop on sustainable developmental goals at Bandos Island Resort today, Minister Thoriq said that the workshop that began today is a historic one.

The Minister said that the Maldives have achieved major successes in reaching the SASQAF goals and hope that the country could achieve similar success with sustainable developmental goals. But he said that there are challenges to the country in achieving them.

Highlighting the government’s attention to reaching sustainable developmental goals, the Environment Minister said that the funding for reaching the goals must be planned.

Minister Thoriq said that a number of government institutions are taking part in the workshop that began today.
