Man arrested for sexually abusing niece in Hirilandhoo

A 38-year-old Maldivian man has been arrested from Hirilandhoo for sexually abusing a minor.

Police said the man was arrested at around 9:15 pm, Saturday.

The man is suspected of sexually abusing his niece.

Court has granted an initial remand period of 5-days for the man, during which he will be kept in confinement in a place chosen by Home Ministry.
