Sun Siyam awarded Doctor Fellowship of Royal Institute, Rafiyya makes history

Leading businessman and leader of political party – Maldives Development Alliance (MDA) – Ahmed Siyam Mohamed (Sun Siyam) has been awarded Doctor Fellow of Royal Institute in its 7th Global Congress held at Hotel Jen on Saturday.

Siyam is Chairman of Sun Media Group and Sun Siyam Resorts.

He can henceforth be addressed officially by the title “Dr”.

Meanwhile, deputy leader of MDA – Aishath Rafiyya was awarded Honorary President of Royal Institute for Public Administrators – becoming the first from South Asian region to achieve the honor.

She previously made history as well when she became the first Maldivian to be awarded a Fellow of Royal Institute when she was awarded Fellow of Royal Institute for Public Administrators in 2015.

Rafiyya is currently doing PhD in Women Empowerment.
