Post-mortem to be conducted to determine reason for Midshah

Sri Lankan Police have said that a post-mortem examination will be conducted on Mohame Midshah, 37, of G. Maaveni, who plummeted to his death from the JAIC Hilton Residence in Colombo, Sri Lanka, to determine the reason for his death.

Criminal Divisions In-charge, Inspector Ariyasinghe of Slave Island Police Station told Sun Online that at the time of his death, the deceased was in the apartment with four men who had checked into the hotel on 12 June, two more Maldivians, a woman from Madagascar who works in Maldives, and two Sri Lankan women.

The woman from Madagascar was a close friend of Midshah, according to Police.

Ariyasinghe said that large amounts of alcohol had been found in the apartment. They were ‘partying’ when Midshah went out to the balcony with a cigarette, and his friends realised that he had fallen from the balcony when they saw people gathered at the hotel compound.

Midshah was dead when he was transported to Colombo National Hospital.

“When he was found, he was checked by JAIC medical officials and the ambulance, and he was already dead. The hospital also confirmed that he was dead when he arrived there. We will know the reason behind this incident once we conduct a post-mortem. His body is currently in the mortuary,” he said.

Sun has been informed that members of Midshah’s family have departed to Colombo this morning following news of his death.
