All the council members of the Lh. Hinnavaru Island Council have been ordered to appear at the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
The Vice President of the Hinnavaru Island Council, Ibrahim Qasim told Sun Media that the document summoning the seven council members to the ACC arrived today.
He said that the ACC ordered two councilors to appear on Monday and the remaining five on Tuesday at the ACC.
Vice President Qasim said that according to the ACC document, the councilors are being summoned as part of an ongoing investigation and did not give any further details on the case. He said that the suspicion against them must be notified when being summoned to an investigation institute so that they can respond appropriately.
He said that the attempts to reach the ACC in regards to the relevant case today have been unsuccessful.
The seven councilors on the Hinnavaru Island Council all belong to MDP.
There has been no response from the ACC regarding the investigation.
