IGMH: Electrical short believed to be the cause of gym fire

A fire has taken place at the gym of Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).

Information Officer of the Hospital, Zeenath Ali Habeeb said that no one was injured in the fire at their gym and was extinguished in a short time.

“It is believed it (fire) happened due to an electrical short.” The Information Officer of IGMH said.

MNDF Information Officer, Major Adnaan Mohamed said that there is still presence of smoke inside although the fire has been extinguished and is being investigated further.

“The damages to the place can be checked when the smoke inside is gone and clears.” Major Adnaan said.

The MNDF Fire and Rescue arrived on scene in a short while after the fire broke out. And with the fire now extinguished, the fire truck has now left the scene.
