Largest symposium held starts with over 500 teachers

Innovative Education Symposium 2016, the largest symposium to be held in the country started at Hiriya School on Thursday.

The symposium is organized by Island Education and Foundation for a Better Future – the second symposium to be held by them.

The slogan for this year’s symposium is – Reinventing the learning space.

More than 500 teachers from 16 public schools in the country are participating in the symposium.

Speaking to “Sun” regarding the symposium, lead coordinator from Foundation for a Better Future, Fathmath Salwa said that six lectures and 19 different workshops will be held during the symposium.

Teachers will be educated by Fanny Passeport – who is a Google-certified educated working at an Indian international school, two specialists from LEGO, University of Cambridge Post-Doctoral Research Fellow – Maldivian philosopher Dr. Ramy Majeed, two specialists trained in Apple Education, Maldives National University Vice Chancellor Dr. Ali Fawaz Shareef, founder of Kick-start and Science Enmenah – Jawish Hameed.

The symposium is being held in partnership with Sun Online, Public Service Media, Event Maldives, Division of Audio Visuals and Happy Market.

All teachers working at public schools are invited to participate in the symposium free of charge, according to capacity.
