Maldives-India Youth Exchange Program starts Friday

Maldives-India Youth Exchange Program, under Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two countries in October, 2015 – on Cooperation in Sport and Youth Affairs, will start next Friday.

The program, held with the purpose of strengthening ties between the two countries, and providing the opportunity for Indian young men and women to experience the daily lives of Maldivian youth – first-hand – is scheduled to continue from April 22 to April 30.

Maldives Ministry of Youth said that the program was designed in such a way that it would educate the Indian youth participating in the program regarding Maldivian history and culture.

A forum is also scheduled to be held within the program to provide youth from India and Maldives to discuss issues and challenges they face.

The forum – scheduled for April 23, is being organized with the help of Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Economic Development, and National Agency.

Parliament member representing South Maafannu constituency, Abdulla Rifau and Hope for Women is o hold sessions during the forum.

50 Maldivian young men and women will be going to India from May 10 to May 18 as part of the same exchange program.
