Housing denies damages to diving wreck Victory due to bride project

Housing Ministry has declared the rumors of the diving wreck Victory being damaged due to the bridge project as false.

At a press conference at the Ministry today, Housing Minister, Dr. Muizzu said that no damage has been inflicted to the dive spot due to the bridge construction.

“There is no truth to any talk that say the bridge work is damaging that wreck.” Dr. Muizzu said.

The Housing Minister made the statement after a journalist asked a question saying that the wreck is being damaged.

Speaking at the press conference, the Deputy Minister of the Housing Ministry, Abdulla Muthalib said that it is not believable that the wreck would be affected since the project is ongoing 150 feet away from the dive spot.

But still, buoys would be installed over this weekend separating the dive site in collaboration with the Diver’s Association.

Muthalib said that it is to protect the site from even a minor damage.
