Maldivians arrested in Lanka suspected of having ties with international drug ring

Sri Lankan police have now said that they now suspect the four Maldivians arrested on Sunday for allegedly trying to smuggle narcotics into the country had ties to an international drug trafficking ring.

Three Sri Lankans were arrested along with the four Maldivians for attempting to smuggle 3 kilos of narcotics into the country.

Sri Lankan media has reported that the suspects were arrested from the airport, trying to get the narcotics out of there, after Sri Lankan Police Narcotics Bureau followed up a tip they received

All seven suspects arrested in the case are suspected of being part of, or affiliated with an international drug trafficking ring.
