Report: National Fund for Control of Drugs empty

Report on expenditure of National Fund for Control of Drugs show that the fund has received no money.

The report shows that no money had gone into the fund from February, 2015 to February, 2016.

The fund had been empty on February, 2015 as well.

Money for the fund is to be sent from money confiscated by State and money made by auctioning off items confiscated to enforce Anti-Drugs Act, as well as through donations made for anti-drugs efforts.

The fund was set up in accordance with Anti-Drugs Act, as per guidelines stated in State Income Act.

The fund provides money to impede drug trafficking, improve quality of rehabilitation provided to drug addicts, as well as achieve goals set in Anti-Drug Act.

However, no such efforts have been funded through National Fund for Control of Drugs as it lies empty.
