Capacity of passenger waiting area of Male-Hulhumale Ferry Terminal in Hulhumale has been increased.
Manager of MTCC Hulhumale Ferry Operations, Mohamed Nazim spoke to “Sun” on Saturday and said that the decision had been made to resolve the issue of waiting area capacity that arose with the launch of premier link services.
Nazim said that there would now be a separate lounge for passengers travelling on AC ferry, as well as three waiting areas for passengers of regular ferries.
He said that the capacity of the terminal had been increased from 260 to 360 seats.
“The capacity of the terminal before was 260. There are three boarding gates, each with the capacity to seat 80 people. With the increase, the total capacity now is 360. That is including the AC lounge,” said Nazim.
