Opposition leaders in London discuss major political move

Maldivian opposition leaders in London has discussed a number of major political moves.

Among the attendees of the discussion include former President Mohamed Nasheed, former Vice President Dr. Mohamed Jameel Ahmed, former Foreign Secretary and the UN special rapporteur to Iran, Dr. Ahmed Shaheed, Deputy Leader of Jumhooree Party, Ameen Ibrahim and the MDP Chairper, Ali Waheed.

Dr. Ahmed Shaheed tweeted a picture at the meeting along with some points of discussion.

And so he said that a campaign to bring government officials to a human Rights committee and a campaign to gain special attention to the Maldives at a corruption summit in the UK this May was initiated.

Dr. Shaheed said that a decision was made at the meeting to raise concern against the death sentence for political motives.
