Swimming banned at Rasfannu Beach

Swimming at the Male Western Artificial Beach, Rasfannu, has been banned today.

Rumors say that swimming was banned after a sewage pipe broke near West Park and is leaking into the Rasfannu area.

A notice near the area say that swimming was banned due to a "work in progress." There has been no official word from any relevant institute.

The south side of Male City have a number of sewage pipes that goes to the sea. The Housing Ministry has said that the Rasfannu Beach was developed after moving the pipes.

Rasfannu Artificial Beach was developed after doing studies for the purity of the water. And tests are set to continue for a designated period of time after opening.
