Man served 15-year jail sentence for sexually abusing young boy

H. Dh. Kulhuduffushi has sentenced a Maldivian man to 15 years in prison for sexually abusing a young boy.

Ahmed Ibrahim from Irujuvaage in Kulhuduffushi was served the sentence after he was found guilty of molesting a young boy who attended the school where he worked in, from when the young boy was studying in grade two to up until grade seven.

Verdict issued by Kulhuduffushi Court on Thursday read that though Ahmed Ibrahim had pleaded innocent to the charge of sexually abusing a minor while at a responsible post, evidence produced by State in court proved that he was guilty of the crime.

He was sentenced in compliance with the law for special policies when dealing with child abusers.

Ahmed Ibrahim was 34 years old when apprehended by police, and 38 years now.
