Met Officer has said that Maldives was facing hot weather right now, reaching up to 33.5 Degree Celsius; making 2016 the hottest year recorded in Maldives for over 18 years.
Met Office released a statement in which it contributed the hot weather and unusually strong El Nino to climate change resulting from harmful gases released into the atmosphere heating up the world and raising sea-level.
Met Officer warned that the upcoming two months would be very hot in Maldives.
The hottest temperature in Maldives up until now was recorded as 30.4 Degree Celsius, back in 1998. Met Office said that the high temperature then, had also been due to unusually strong El Nino.
