52nd SAARC Programming Committee meeting begins

The 52nd South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Programming Committee has begun in Nepal on Tuesday.

The meeting is being held at Pokhara, Nepal.

Maldivian Foreign Ministry said that the topic of discussion during the meeting would revolve mainly around regional centers, SAARC University, SAARC Development Fund, SAARC Arbitration Council, South Asian Standardization Organization and such.

Discussions will also be held to strengthen regional ties in areas such as agriculture, development of rural areas, terrorism, drug trafficking and media.

Maldivian delegation that is participating in the Joint Committee meeting is being led by Joint Secretary for Foreign Ministry, Farzana Fahir.
