And so the minister admitted to bringing USD 100 million for the development of Ibrahim Nasir International Airport, USD 80 million for Hulhumalé development, USD 15 million to build mosques and USD 20 million for the budget.

Dr. Shainee said that the money was brought through the accounts of the Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) and not in his car as the MDP Chairperson said.

“I am the minister President Yameen assigned to Saudi related projects.” The Fisheries Minister said.

Regarding the accusations against the Fisheries Minsiter by the MDP Chairperson, Ali Waheed, Minister Shainee said that he should return to the country with evidence.

“If there are any suspicions against me, with evidence of it, come here (to the Maldives). No matter how much one shouts from afar, nothing would happen.” Dr. Shainee said.
