Drug user sentenced to three years

Criminal Court has sentenced a drug user to three years in prison.

Ibrahim Shareef, Malé, was sentenced after being convicted of using cannabis.

The sentenced passed from the Criminal Court yesterday said that the man confessed in court that he was under the influence of cannabis when Police arrested him on the night of 2 August 2012.

And said that the investigation report shows that his urine tested positive for cannabis.

Shareef was sentenced under Article 11-B in reference to 11-A of the Anti-Drug law.
