60 kilo ambergris found by a boat from Foakaidhoo

A boat from Sh. Foakaidhoo has found a 60 kilo ambergris.

Captain of the boat – Mercury – which found the ambergris – Ali Hussein spoke to “Sun” and said that the found the white colored ambergris – which they believe weighs around 60 kilos – 30 miles outside Feevah.

“A man looking through binoculars found the ambergris... 30 miles to the north outside Feevah,” said Ali Hussein.

He said that they were working on bringing the ambergris to Male’ and running tests to confirm that it’s an ambergris and see how much it weighs.

A 30 kilo ambergris was found last December by a man from Feevah, which fetched a price of MVR 11.4 million.

Another ambergris – weighing 10 kilos – was found by a woman from Fohdhoo beach.
