New President, Vice President elected for H. Dh. Atoll Council

A new president and vice president has been elected for H. Dh. Atoll Council for the upcoming year.

The voting was carried out during general meeting held last Thursday.

Nolhivaram representative Ahmed Ibrahim was voted president, while South Kulhuduffushi representative Abdul Latheef Hassan was voted vice president.

Ahmed Ibrahim and Abdul Latheef Hassan – who had no contenders - were elected to their posts through the unanimous vote of the six members who attended the meeting, according to Atoll Council.

The posts were previously filled by Vaikaradhoo representative Hussein Saqeef – who worked as president – and South Kulhuduffushi representative Ahmed Athif – who worked as vice president.

It is part of the standard operating practice of H. Dh. Atoll Council to elect a new president and vice president every year.
