Dr. Muizzu: Largest shipment would come tomorrow for bridge project

Housing Minister, Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has said that the largest imported shipment to the Maldives would be coming in tomorrow for the Malé-Hulhulé bridge project.

Speaking at the ceremony held today to give certificates to those who bought flats from Gulhufalhu to assure they would be getting flats from Hulhumalé, Minister Dr. Muizzu said that a shipment of the likes which has never been brought into the Maldives, would be coming tomorrow. He said the four barges, a tugboat are on the ship that is bringing the shipment including different cranes.

“Tomorrow is, with God’s Will, the day the Maldivian people would see one of the most important things in this. For the bridge project and so far the biggest shipment to come to Maldives is coming tomorrow.” Housing Minister, Dr. Muizzu said.

He said that tomorrow’s shipment is the first of many important shipments for the project.

The Minister said that the bridge project is on scheduled to be completed around May-June of 2018 as before.

While the construction has begun, the 1.39 kilometer bridge is agreed to be completed in 30 months. And so the Housing Ministry says that the bridge would be fully completed in 2018.
