Court has granted 10-day remand for the two suspects who were arrested after the powerhouse burned to the ground, leaving the island without electricity for 5 days.
The two suspects – Assistant Manager of Fenaka Corporation Thinadhoo Branch, Ibrahim Ahmed and Thinadhoo Powerhouse driver, Mohamed Yameen – were arrested on Sunday.
The fire incident took place on January 26. It damaged the three generators used to power the island beyond repair.
