Four people have been charged with terrorism over the Improvised Explosive Device found near Muliaage.
An official from Prosecutor General’s Office said that one of the four suspects were charged with conspiring to carry out a terrorist attack, while the other three suspect were charged with being accessories to carrying out a terrorist attack.
IED was discovered near Muliaage during evening of November 2, 2015.
Maldives National Defense Force officers arrived on the scene and transported the IED to Stadium and disabled it.
Home Minister Umar Naseer said that the street where the IED was planted was a usual route taken by President Abdulla Yameen, and that it was an attempt to assassinate the President.
