Man in critical condition after falling off tree

A young man who fell off a tree in F. Nilandhoo is being treated at Intensive Care Unit of Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).

“Sun” has been informed that the man who fell off the tree – Shimaz Rafeeq from G. A. Vilingili – is in critical condition.

IGMH Media Official spoke to “Sun” and said that arrangements were being made to transport him abroad for treatment.

Shimaz was first taken to F. Atoll Hospital in Nilandhoo before he was transported to Male’ due to the seriousness of his injuries.

He had received injuries to the back of his neck as well as his backbone.

“He was sent to Male’ because his lower body was completely paralyzed when he was brought to the hospital,” said an official from F. Atoll Hospital who spoke to “Sun”.
