Officer warned for swearing at RajjeTV reporter

Police officer has been disciplined for speaking to a RajjeTV reporter in a way that does not fit Maldives Police Service professional standard.

Complaint filed by RajjeTV reporter Murshid Abdul Hakeem against Corporal Shifan Rasheed ended in Murshid’s favor.

The police report on the case states that it was proven that Corporal Shifan swore at Murshid while he was sitting on the wall of the stage at Artificial Beach on the night on November 7.

And that Shifan had been penalized with a warning.

Murshid has also filed a case regarding the issue with National Integrity Commission. But said that he had not been informed of what their verdict regarding the incident was.

Another RajjeTV reporter, Mohamed Wisam has also filed a case with NIC saying that a police officer had physically harmed him. But the NIC is yet to reveal whether investigation into the case has ended or not.
