MNDF: Kunburudhoo bullets were from a training

Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) has said that the bullets found from H. Dh. Kunburudhoo last Monday night were from a military training with a foreign country conducted on the island during early 2014.

MNDF released a statement in which it said that the bullets found were “non-lethal simunition rounds used in military training.” And that they were investigating why the bullets were left behind on the island after the training.

MNDF said that some media had reported the discovery of bullets from Kunburudhoo in such a way that it created fear and panic, and assured public that security surrounding “MNDF armory, weapons and everything” had been tightened.

MNDF also provided the reassurance that there was nothing threatening the safety and security of the country at the moment.
