After the blackout, only one theft took place in Thinadhoo

Maldives Police Service has said that only one theft was reported in the high theft island of Thinadhoo in the past three days after the electricity blackout following the powerhouse fire.

Head of the Upper South Command, Hassan Haneef told Sun Media today that compared to other months, theft cases are very few and after the blackout and the island went dark, only one theft was reported.

Haneef said that it was a small case of theft that was reported and is now under investigation.

He said that the Police have been patrolling the island more vigilantly since the electricity blackout on Monday. Haneef said that it is very unlikely for any theft to take place so long as the Police continue patrols as they are doing now.
