Dhunya meets with Nawaz Sharif

Maldivian Foreign Minister Dhunya Maumoon – who is in Pakistan on an official visit – has met with Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Dhunya, during the meeting held at Prime Minister’s Office in Islamabad, conveyed regards from President Abdulla Yameen, and thanked Pakistani government for the warm welcome she received.

She also expressed hope that Nawaz would visit Maldives soon.

During the meeting, which was held on Thursday, Nawaz praised Maldives for its individuality and talked about the close ties between the two countries since the 1980’s.

Dhunya also presented a letter to Nawaz from President Yameen, and thanked Pakistani government for the assistant provided to Maldives.

The meeting was also attended by Maldivian High Commissioner to Pakistan Ahmed Saleem and Joint Secretary of Foreign Affairs Faruzana Zahir.

Dhunya also met with Pakistani Prime Minister’s Advisor for Foreign Affairs Sarthaj Aziz and Special Assistant for Foreign Affairs Said Tariq Fathimi.
