LED lights, candles and water to be distributed to all Thinadhoo households

Emergency Operation Center (EOC) has said that distribution of different donations made by people to assist the people of G. Dh. Thinadhoo – who are living without electricity after their powerhouse burned to the ground Monday night – would start on Thursday.

During the EOC press conference, Thinadhoo Council member Gussayyu Abdulla said that they would receive candles sufficient enough for the entire island on Thursday, and that distribution of the candles, LED lights and water would start as soon as they do.

President of Thinadhoo Council Ahmed Naseer said that electricity needed for some vital institution had been provided now.

And that they were providing items needed for the 10,400 people living in 645 households in the island.

Manager of Dr. Abdul Samad Memorial Hospital, Hussein Rasheed said that they were working on bringing items needed to control the problem caused by spread on mosquitos with the power cut via sea transport.

Technical Manager of Fenaka Corporation – Thinadhoo branch, Musthafa Hassan said that electricity would be provided to Thinadhoo Education Center, Ikhlaas Mosque and Thinadhoo School before sun sets on Thursday.
