MWSC brings additional plant for 5 liter Taza water bottles

Male Water and Sewerage System (MWSC) has said that they have brought an additional bottling plant to increase production of their Taza brand 5 liter water bottles.

Speaking to press on Sunday, Managing Director of MWSC Ibrahim Fazul Rasheed said that they were now working on assembling the plant, and that it would start producing water by end of February.

“…This five liter line is also a cornerstone to our development. Even to solve water shortage in northern and southern Maldives during hot weather… We will be able to expand our market through this bottling plant…,” said Fazul.

He said that the additional plant meant the company would be able to produce enough water for the entire Maldivian population.

“Demand and supply does not match. So we are introducing this plant to make supply meet demand. This will create additional jobs along with availability of bottled water to Maldivians at an affordable price,” said Fazul.

MWSC currently has the capacity to produce 2,500 liters per hour. The new plant would push production to 4,000 liters per hour.

Fazul said that the company wanted to build a plant in H.dh. Kulhudhuffushi, and were currently at design phase.
