Ghanim Mohamed has been appointed Dean of Faculty of Engineering Technology, Maldives National University.
Ghanim, who had been working as a lecturer at FET was appointed Dean during a ceremony held in the center on Sunday morning.
In his acceptance speech, Ghanim said that huge changes need to be brought to the country in engineering and architecture. And that he now saw the way to help the faculty overcome the challenges it was facing.
He said the changes brought to National University had sparked the hope human resources and expertise would be developed. And vowed that he would give priority to the youth of the nation.
Ghanim also said that he would work on strengthening ties with international educational institutions and hoped to start a PhD program in FET within the coming four years and transform the faculty into an internationally acclaimed educational institution.
Classed are to start at National University on January 31, with over 190 spots available from FET.
