Adheeb questioned by the ACC

The former Vice President Ahmed Adheeb has been questioned by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) regarding the leasing of islands by the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) in such a way that could lead to corruption.

Sources say that the former Vice President was questioned in the presence of his lawyer yesterday at 2:30 p.m.

Adheeb was questioned yesterday by the ACC to gather information to continue the investigation.

While ACC has questioned the former Vice President Adheeb, Maldives Police Service has also questioned the former Vice President in suspicions of his involvement in corruption. The Police have finished their investigation and has sent the case to the Prosecutor General (PG).

But the PG has decided not to take the case to trial before the ACC finishes their investigation.

Former Vice President Adheeb has been suspected of over 50 corruption charges.
