Two islands flooded in the northern atoll rains

Two islands have been flooded in the heavy rains experienced in the northern atolls of the Maldives.

G.Dh. Nadellaa and Feydhoo, Addu City was flooded in the rains last night.

The Island Council of Nadella said that water went into eight houses due to the floods from the rain since 8:30 p.m. last night. President of the Nadella Island Council, Fisal Najeeb told Sun Media that all of the appliances were affected by the water at some houses.

“…it was raining since 8:30 last night. Eight houses had water come in, appliances were damaged at two houses, then with the help of the military in Kaadeddhoo now the problem has been somewhat solved.” Fisal said.

Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) said that they were active in Feydhoo, Addu City and Nadellaa in the rain last night. And so the gutters in Feydhoo were cleaned to better drain the water and pumps were used in Nadellaa to drain water from the roads.
