President, First Lady depart to Thailand

President Yameen Abdul Gayoom and First Lady Fathimath Ibrahim departed to Thailand on Thursday, 31 December 2015.

This has been confirmed by President’s Office Spokesperson Ibrahim Muaz Ali.

Whether the visit is official or not is unclear.

Muaz said that during his trip, President Yameen will meet with the Prime Minister of Thailand.

This is the first trip abroad by the President and the First Lady since the boat explosion incident in September 2015.
