President asks Home Minister to do everything possible to find Rilwan

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has asked Minister of Home Affairs Umar Naseer to do everything possible to find Minivan News journalist Abdulla Rilwan.

This came after the President received a letter from the missing journalist’s family, asking to expedite the search efforts.

The family said that the purpose of the letter was to ask the President to encourage the police to investigate the matter and return Rilwan to his family as soon as possible.

Earlier, Umar Naseer said that he would leave no stone unturned to find the truth behind Rilwan’s disappearance. He also announced that former MP Ahmed Nazim and former Vice President Ahmed Adeeb are being questioned as part of this investigation.

Rilwan went missing on 8 August 2014. He was last seen entering Hulhumalé Ferry Terminal in Malé.
