Carnival being prepped for New Year show as if for a

Last minute preparations have started in Carnival for the New Year show organized by government.

The preparations are being made through collaborative efforts of different government ministries.

Special stalls are also being prepared inside Carnival to showcase work of different government ministries and institutions.

Education Ministry officials, Maldives Police Service officials and Youth Ministry officials are busy preparing their stalls for Thursday night, while police have banned parking vehicles near the area and have started removing vehicles already parked there.

Renowned Pakistani singer Atif Aslam is set to perform in the show, and officials have started preparing the stage and testing sound.

Winners of third season of Indian television channel Star Plus programs “Dance Plus” and India’s Got Talent” – dance group Suresh & Vernon Group are also set to perform in the show.

Work is being carried out to construct high walls around the Carnival, while the space inside the Carnival has been divided using iron polls – one as a seating area for dignitaries invited to the show, and the other for public.

The Carnival will accommodate 7,000 people and is expected to be jam-packed with fans of Atif Aslam and Suresh & Vernon Group.

Public Service Media (PSM) – who are organizing the show – has said that five lucky fans would be allowed the opportunity to take a selfie with the singing sensation, while two lucky fans will be allowed VIP passes and seven lucky fans – the opportunity to enter “Fan Zone”.
