Maldivian lowers Trivandrum ticket price ahead of Maldives-India semi-final match

National airline Maldivian in collaboration with Football Association of Maldives (FAM) has reduced the ticket price for Male-Trivandrum sector ahead of the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Suzuki Cup semi-final match, in which Maldives will meet India.

FAM Normalisation Committee Chairman Mohamed Shaweed said that this followed discussions with Island Aviation, operator of Maldivian, held earlier today.

Male-Trivandrum one-way tickets have been made available to supporters at $75.

Male-Trivandrum one-way tickets are normally priced at $191, and return tickets at $382.

Maldives will play against India in the semi-final at 3:00 p.m. on 31 December 2015.

The flight dedicated for supporters is scheduled to depart from Male at 9:45 p.m. today, 29 December 2015.

Maldivian has decided to operate four flights for Maldivian supporters if Maldives reaches the final, which have been scheduled for 3:15 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. on 2 January 2016, and 6:00 a.m. and 8:40 a.m. on 3 January 2016.

Shaweed added that FAM will also arrange cheap accommodation for supporters.

Maldives has played four matches so far, and the number of Maldivian supporters at the stadium in Trivandrum has increased with every match.

Also, the Consulate of Maldives in Trivandrum has been working with FAM to distribute tickets to Maldivian supporters.
