Police seek charges against Adeeb, Ziyath over lease of 17 islands

Police have submitted cases to the Prosecutor General’s (PG) Office, against former Vice President Ahmed Adeeb and former Managing Director of Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) Abdulla Ziyath regarding corruption allegations in the lease of 17 additional islands for tourist resort development.

This has been confirmed to Sun Media by a PG Office official.

PG Office is reviewing cases regarding seven islands filed earlier.

Also, Adeeb and Ziyath have been charged with corruption in the lease of a lagoon in Malé atoll for tourism purposes.
