Third remand extension for man accused of sexual abuse of wife

Criminal Court has extended remand for a third time for Ibrahim Shah, 40, arrested on suspicion of sexually abusing his wife.

Police said Shah was given seven additional days on Sunday, 27 December 2015.

His wife has been admitted in Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) for over two weeks, and the hospital said that although she showed signs of slow recovery earlier, her condition took a turn for the worse on Monday, 21 December 2015.

A witness told Sun Media on condition of anonymity that she left her husband some time ago and had been living with her family.

Ministry of Law and Gender, on Twitter, condemned the abuse and assured to do everything possible to find justice for the victim.
