Old vehicles at the carnival area has been towed

Police have begun a cleaning project at the carnival area towing the old and illegally parked vehicles in the area.

A number of vehicles have now been removed from the area.

Before the project began this morning being conducted by the Maldives Police Service, Housing Ministry, Maldives Road Development Corporation (MRDC), Environment Ministry and the Transport Authority, the Police at the area began contacting the owners of the private vehicles before removing them.

The vehicles being removed from the area are to be moved to Thilafushi according to the Police. Vehicles parked at the carnival area illegally without registrations or any information on the owners is also going to be relocated.

The old vehicles towed from the carnival area are scheduled to be scrapped as per the regulation.
