Economic Ministry has decided that closing time for business be 11 p.m. starting tonight until the end of the year end holidays.
Deputy Minister of the Economic Ministry, Adam Thaufeeg told Sun Media that the current regulation in effect is closing businesses at 10 p.m. but the change has been implemented starting tonight.
“Since this is the school season and there are people from different parts of the country in Malé as well, a number of people have been requesting the Ministry. That is why it was decided so.” Deputy Minister Thaufeeg said.
He said that the closing time for businesses have been changed to 11 p.m. until 14 January starting tonight. But after that, businesses must resume to the regular closing time of 10 p.m.
The closing time for businesses was changed to 10 p.m. by the Home Ministry on 25 March of this year.
