Ambassador of ITB Berlin visits the Maldives

Celebrating 50 years of one of the biggest travel award show, ITB Berlin, the ambassador designated for the Maldives have arrived in the country.

A special event to welcome the ITB Ambassadors to the Maldives, Mr. and Mrs. Kraus was held at Bandon Island Resort thins evening.

Speaking at a ceremony to meet the Maldivian representatives at Bandos, Deputy Minister of the Tourism Ministry, Hussain Liraar said that it is a privilege to host the 2016 ITB fair in the Maldives.

He said that ITB has achieved numerous advancements and achievements in the past ten years.

At the ceremony today, the ITB Ambassador Kraus presented an ITB Limited Buddy Bear to Deputy Minister Liraar. And the Deputy Minister presented a model Maldivian boat to the Ambassador.

As part of the celebrations of 50 years of ITB Berlin, 50 Ambassadors would be travelling to 50 countries around the globe.

The visits on the different topics include Tourism, Police, Social Issues and Environment and History. The Ambassadors are scheduled to meet with the representatives and discuss the topics.

The topic for the Maldives is “Honeymoon.” And so discussions would be help on that topic with the ITB representatives.

Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) have previously said that the Maldives would be the host country of the 2016 ITB fair.

The fair would be held from 9-13 March in the Maldives.
