G.A. Villingili experiencing blackouts for the past week

G.A. Villingili has been experiencing electrical blackouts for the past week.

President of the Villingili Island Council, Niyaz Nizar told Sun Media that blackouts are taking places across the island due to a problem with a generator at the island powerhouse.

“Out of the three generators being used at the powerhouse, problem with an 800 kw generator is causing the blackouts. FENAKA Corporation has been working to fix the problem.” Council President Nizar said.

He said that the 400 kw generator and the 260 kw generator are in good condition but they cannot provide the sufficient electricity to the entire island.

A local on the island that spoke to Sun Media said that they are facing a lot of difficulty since the blackouts are “every now and then.” And he said that the people of the island want a solution as soon as possible.

Sun Media has been unable to get a word from FENAKA Corp. on the matter.
