Police have submitted the case against former vice president Ahmed Adeeb, accusing him of bribing police officers, to the Prosecutor General’s (PG) Office.
A PG Office official told Sun Media the case was received today and is under review.
Head of Crime Investigation Department, Chief Superintendent of Police Hamdhoon Rasheed said earlier that police had gathered evidence during the investigation which show that Adeeb bribed Police Intelligence officers.
Adeeb is accused of bribing Police Intelligence officers to obtain official information and have them work for him for private purposes.
The respective officers had confessed during the investigation to accepting bribes and sharing information with Adeeb, Hamdhoon said.
Police have also claimed that they have CCTV footage showing Police Intelligence officers visiting Adeeb at home.
