Member of the National Council of Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) Anwar Ibrahim, arrested during a protest on Saturday night, has been released.
Police Information Officer Ismail Ali said he was released on Thursday night.
Police have not given any reason for his arrest.
“Despite his release, the investigation against him is ongoing,” Ismail Ali said.
So far, 13 people arrested during the protest have been released. They include former Education Minister Dr Mustafa Luthfy, and MDP Media Committee Member Mohamed Waheed.
