The budget which was originally scheduled to submit to the Parliament before the end of the past month was delayed due to the attack on the Presidential Launch. The Financial Law says that the budget has to be presented at the Parliament by the end of October.
The Parliament passed MVR 24.3 billion as the budget for this year with an expected return of MVR 21.5 billion.
A recurrent of 15.8 billion was estimated for the budget with a capital of 8.5 billion.
